The MTA Regional Bus Operations bus fleet is a fleet of buses in fixed-route service in New York City under the "MTA New York City Bus" (also known as New York City Transit or NYCT) and "MTA Bus" brands, both of which operate local, limited, express, and Select Bus Service routes.

MCI Coach buses are one two coach bus models ordered for NYCT and MTA Bus. Many buses were ordered between 1996 and 2013. Numbers are: 1860-2039 were 1997-98 MCI 102-DLW3SS coaches. This is the first order of MCI 102-DLW3SS buses for NYCT. Towards the end of their lives, some buses were transfered to MTA bus.

The MCI D-Series is a model of motorcoach bus produced by Motor Coach Industries (MCI). The bus is primarily used by private companies operating scheduled service or commuter buses, government agencies for the transport of prisoners, and in more recent years, public transit agencies who use them on express routes.

Contract awarded to MCI on November 9, 2022. The contract is for all 172 buses, no options, and the value of the contract is $142,994,950, plus five percent for contingencies. Prototype bus was to be built in 3rd quarter 2023, with all buses to be delivered by 1st quarter 2025.

In 2005, MCI redesigned their D-Series coach. The D4500CT inherited the headlights from the G-Series and was available with optional flush-mounted passenger windows. Fluted stainless steel sides were also an option.
