The New Flyer Industries XE60 is a battery-electric articulated transit bus from New Flyer's Xcelsior line. On a full charge, the bus has a range of up to 153 miles. The XE40 can be charged enroute with an OppCharge-compliant rapid charger or for extended down periods with a Combined Charging System plug-in charger.

In 2019, the MTA ordered their first battery-electric sixty-foot articulated buses, with an order of fifteen XE60 Xcelsior CHARGE buses from New Flyer, deployed on Manhattan Select Bus Service routes.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority 4950-4964 are 2019 New Flyer XE60 buses. They are the MTA's first articulated electric buses. They started arriving in October 2019 and the first buses entered service on December 19th, 2019 (4950, 4951) on the M14 SBS routes.

The first Xcelsior battery electric buses (XE40) were built in 2014 and delivered to the Chicago Transit Authority and Winnipeg Transit. [7] Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority was the lead agency for the XE60, ordered in January 2019 [8] and placed into service on July 31, 2019. [9] The Toronto Transit Commission operates 25 XE40 buses.
