Die Motorräder MZ ES 175, ES 250 und ES 300 wurden von 1956 bis 1973 im VEB Motorradwerk Zschopau gefertigt. Die ES-Baureihe wurde 1962 mit den ES 125 und ES 150 ergänzt. Das Kürzel ES steht herstellerseitig für „Einzylinder, Schwinge“. [1] Im DDR-Volksmund wurde daraus die Bezeichnung „Eisen-Schwein“.
