Motorenwerke Zschopau GmbH (formerly MZ Motorrad- und Zweiradwerk GmbH) is a German motorcycle manufacturer located in Zschopau, Saxony. The acronym MZ since 1956 [1] stands for Motorenwerke Zschopau GmbH (German for Zschopau engine factory).

1956: The brand "MZ" (Motorradwerk Zschopau) is introduced. In the best years 3200 employees built more than 80000 motorcycles, many of them were exported to more than 100 countries. The new ES 250 is introduced.

2020年9月24日 · MZ, which stands for Motorenwerke Zschopau (Zschopau Engine Works), began building motorcycles in 1922, making them one of the world’s oldest motorcycle manufacturers, and the factory would be a leader in two-stroke engine development up through the 1950s, spearheaded by race engineer Walter Kaaden.

After a buyout, MZ started production of their first for-stroke machines, the 500R range of road and then euro bikes, utilising the 500cc Rotax motor. This same motor was used in the Seymour-Powell designed award-winning Skorpion, although it was replaced by the watercooled Yamaha 660cc motor for the production machines.

The 1MZ-FE is a 3.0 L (2,994 cc) dual overhead cam (DOHC) V6 engine, replacing the 3VZ-FE as the worldwide 3.0 L V6 engine. Bore and stroke is 87.5 mm × 83 mm (3.44 in × 3.27 in). Output is 194–201 hp (145–150 kW; 197–204 PS) at 5200–5400 rpm with 183–209 lb⋅ft (248–283 N⋅m) of torque at 4400 rpm.
