2020年12月11日 · The reason behind his death is elaborated in The Answer of Persona 3 FES, an extra playable chapter. The movies don't elaborate on that. Basically, at the end of P3, Makoto finds his purpose in life, or his "answer". In the final battle, as he confronts Nyx, which is the concept of death itself, it becomes clear that death can not be defeated.

I feel like the protagonist of P3 in the movies is a lot different from the Makoto Yuki in the game. In the game he seems like a cool and reliable person, people refering to him as a leader and being called a "good looking/handsome" guy by some of the female characters.

2019年8月15日 · So, it's revealed in Persona 4 that Elizabeth left the velvet room to free Makoto's soul from the seal that stops Nyx from being released. That's the thing, Makoto did have a happy ending. He died surrounded by his loved ones, after having lived his life as he wanted to.
