Manetho (/ ˈmænɪθoʊ /; Koinē Greek: ΜανέθωνManéthōn, gen.: Μανέθωνος) is believed to have been an Egyptian priest from Sebennytos (Coptic: Ϫⲉⲙⲛⲟⲩϯ[2]) who lived in the Ptolemaic Kingdom in the early third century BC, during the Hellenistic period.
