Dema is a fictional city on the continent of Trench. It is ruled by nine Bishops, who enforce the religion of Vialism throughout the city. The storyline of Dema was created by Grammy Award-winning band Twenty One Pilots. A map of the Sacred Municipality of Dema.

The map consists of a large landmass, labelled "Continent of Trench" with the jumpsuit medallion at the top, to the east of the city of DEMA, located on a peninsula. A port near DEMA is labelled "Port Vial", presumably referencing Vialism.

The trench running down the center between hemispheres suggest the need for a balance between right and left-brained thinking, between imagination and logic, intuitive and analytical. The DEMA city being located in the brain stem suggests that the bishops represent the raw emotions, with Nico in control, representing disgust/self loathing.
