Math Study Center All students in Math 120 are encouraged to utilize the Math Study Center (located in B-014 in the basement of the Communications building). The MSC is a great place to study: you can work with other students in your course, form study groups, and get assistance from tutors when you are stuck.

MATH 120 provides fluency in foundational mathematical concepts that appear in future courses in computer science. This course is destined for computer science majors; it does not count toward a major in mathematics.

You all know from previous math classes how one course will build upon the next, and precalculus is no exception. Math 120 will introduce a basic toolkit of examples and then focus on multi-step problems and applications. Some of these problems are lengthy and algebra mistakes can lead to hours of frustration.
