Maxxis Ikon review - Mountain Bike Reviews Forum
2018年7月23日 · Billed as Maxxis' most versatile cross-country tread pattern, the Maxxis Ikon is designed to work on just about any trail condition outside apocalyptic mud. This race ready tire has a high-volume casing and fast-rolling tread layout where a well-defined and closely spaced center helps keep speed high, while taller, more widely spaced side knobs ...

2010年12月12日 · Just got a new set of Maxxis Ikon 29x2.2 tires. For those of you looking to get a set here is a quick look: Out of the box - I got the EXO version according to Maxxis these have a little more sidewall protection but there is a slight weight penalty. Maxxis claims these are 575 grams. Both of...
Aspen vs Ikon - Mountain Bike Reviews Forum
2010年10月3日 · Seems like the Maxxis Aspen and Ikon tires are designed to do the same thing. The Aspen is a bit narrower, but the weights and goals are the same. Both are supposed to be fast rolling high volume xc race tires. It's about time to replace the Small Block 8 on the back of my Jabberwocky. Want...
Maxxis Ikon vs. Conti Race King - Mountain Bike Reviews Forum
2011年5月26日 · Last weekend I put on a Maxxis Ikon 29x2.2 front & Bontrager 29-0 29x1.9 in the rear of my Niner Air9 - both set up tubeless. The Ikon feels like it rolls faster and corners more predictably than the Race Kings I had on it before, and seem a little less pressure sensitive.
Maxxis ikon 29x2.6 - Mountain Bike Reviews Forum
2018年9月21日 · I've got several rides in on the 2.6 Ikon on a slack 29er hardtail. It's a very similar tire to 2.6 Rekon. I'll compare the two. To me feels like the Ikon spins up just a bit quicker. Ikon feels like a little less rolling resistance. Braking feels nearly identical - maybe Rekon squats into the ground a tiny bit more.
29er Racing Ralph VS. Maxxis IKON - Mountain Bike Reviews Forum
2012年6月15日 · 29er XC REAR tire - Schwalbe Racing Ralph vs. Maxxis Ikon I am in search of a GREAT XC/all mountain 29er REAR tire, specifically for dry, hard pack and forest trails (very few roots, some rock gardens, but mostly flowing, dry, single track). No muddy or wet conditions. Would like as fast a...
ikon vs ardent - Mountain Bike Reviews Forum
2017年9月5日 · I had a chat with a Maxxis tech about choosing their tires. I was interested in primarily the ikon and Ardent 29er's. His very first question was did I read the description of each tire which listed the intended use - For Example : Ikon "Our most versatile XC tread" EXO Protection offered in select models "High-volume, lightweight true racing tire"
Maxxis Ikon vs Aspen for the rear - Mountain Bike Reviews Forum
2011年6月17日 · Ikon works great on hardpack and was not that bad even on snow but when mud appears, it looses traction and starts to slip. What about Aspen? It seems to have more open and maybe higher side knobs, so it may work better in the mud but the central thread is very low which makes me worried. I don't want to lose the speed and low resistance the ...
Maxxis - Looking for more grip than Ikon/Ardent Race combo...
2020年6月12日 · Recently purchased a new wheelset with 28mm id and for that wheel I got some wider tires to go with: Ikon in 2.35 on the front and Rekon Race in 2.35 on the back. The Ikon in 2.35 is a much burlier tire than its small sibling in 2.2. The knobs are much larger and the threadpatern looks more aggressive than the Rekon in 2.25.
Maxxis Ardent Race over IKON for front tire?
2016年6月25日 · I just installed a pair of 29x2.35 Maxxis IKON 3c tires on my Salsa El Mar as replacement for Schwalbe Rapid Robs which handled great but were pretty heavy. I will say these things accelerate and climb faster than any other tire I've ever ridden, however as a front tire it is pretty terrible. Very sketchy and unpredictable.
