MAZ 73131 was used as a chassis for heavy mobile cranes KS 5573 and KS 6571A. They also used as an airfield fire trucks. In 1986, MAZ 7310 range was replaced by an updated 21-tonnes MAZ 7313 truck and 23-tonnes MAZ 73131 chassis. They still were based on MAZ 543, but had frame and suspension parts from the new ’Oplot’ range.

The MAZ-7313 is a Soviet, eight-wheeled, off-road heavy truck. It is assumed that the vehicle entered the line in 1986, and its first versions may have appeared in 1983. The weight of the vehicle was 21 tons, and the drive was provided by a single 525 HP engine. The wagon's length was about 11.5 meters, with a width of about 3 meters.

Designed in the 1960s, the MAZ-543 was presented on 7 November 1965 during the Moscow Red Square military parade as an element of the SS-1C Scud B system. The vehicle was powered by a 38.9 litre D12A-525 tank diesel engine producing around 525 horsepower, and gives a maximum road speed of 60 km/h.
