Technically Jesus was not born anytime near Christmas and this is an attempt by the Catholic church to coopt existing pagan holidays. Furthermore this was the practice of the church of the nicolaitans whose deeds jesus said "I also hate" rev 2:6 Anyhow, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

2017年12月25日 · Christmas isn't actually the birthday of Jesus, but was a pagan holiday for drinking and festivities in Germanic Europe. The Christians just decided to make that day the Birthday of Jesus to trick the pagans into celebrating a "Christian holiday"

2022年12月24日 · I have never been offended at someone saying Merry Christmas nor have most other Jews I know. If someone says Happy Holidays that's cool and I do appreciate people trying to be inclusive. Personally I'd tend to stick with Happy Holidays any time around the season and Merry Christmas only on Christmas Day/Eve, but I don't care what others do.

Because like the other person said, you are not congratulating them but you are expressing your hope that they will have a happy Christmas when the time comes. Having said that, for people who I text on Christmas I do that today (Christmas Day). Or in the evening of Christmas Eve.
