This MGA has been raced ever since it was bought for that purpose back in 1962. Since 1980 it's been owned and driven by Kent Prather of Prather Racing, and Kent has had a tremendous amount of success with it. This particular MGA has been driven to victory in more SCCA National Championships than any other production car in history.

The MGA is a sports car that was produced by MG from 1955 until 1962. The MGA replaced the MG TF 1500 Midget and represented a complete styling break from MG's earlier sports cars. Announced on 26 September 1955 [3] the car was officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

In Sports Car Club of America competition the MGA has won a number of championships most notably the car driven by Kent Prather attained a string of G Class wins over the years.

MGA proved itself well on the racetrack with good finishes at the Mille Miglia, Sebring 12-hour race, Le Mans 24-hour race, Monte Carlo Rally, Alpine Rally, and Goodwood Whit Monday. The 1956 MG EX179 was basically a MGA with a streamlined shell designed to challenge land speed records on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

MGA Twin Cam SRX 210 competed in the 24 hour Le Mans race three times between 1959 and 1961. In 1960 it finish first in class and 12th overall. Now believed to be a reincarnation of LBL303 EX192 car, probably using a 1955 Le Mans body shell.
