Miao (廟/庙) are buildings in traditional East Asian religions enshrining gods, myths or legends, sages of past dynasties, and famous historical figures. [1] They are a kind of Chinese temple architecture and contrast with Ci Shrines which enshrine ancestors and people instead of deities.

2012年1月13日 · During the reign of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (1403—1424), over 150 years after Shanghai’s establishment as a county, Jinshan Shrine on the northern bank of Fanghong was expanded and transformed into the city god temple of Shanghai County.

The Temple of the Miao King (aka the Temple of the King of the Miao People) sits on the west outskirt of Rongjiang County. It is the only one temple for the Miao people in China, even in the world. Originally, the temple was set up in memory of the Miao people's forefathers who had developed the local wastelands.
