My mechanic told me it says in the miata manual that the engine uses 1qt. of oil for every 1500-2000miles. my Nb has 180,000 miles on it, but was owned by a collector, & under the hood, it's spotless. it runs like a sewing machine. No oil that I can see, but I'll look more closely. No drips on the cardboard.

She’s been a comfortable upgrade from the NA Miata though! PO bought it new and drove the car until he passed away at 90yrs old. Picked the car up from one of his kids on Craigslist and have been having an absolute blast ever since.

Not my first car, but I bought my 1st Miata in 1999. Followed by a 2003, another 1997, and then a 2006. In 2020 I bought a BMW M240iX convertible. I miss my Miata every day. But, I have grandchildren now and my kids won't let me take the grandchildren for a ride if there isn't a back seat. The long road trips in a Miata never bothered me.

However I find myself wondering is it really required on the Miata. All my prior Mazda cx 5s and same Sky active technology required only the regular. I dont get why they picked spice… particularly BURNING spice… like the other ones are the core ingredients for good cookies, but then you have burning spice which implies peppers and not something like cinnamon or other sweeter spices.

The consensus being around 225-250 being the max hp stock internals can take before it starts to prematurely wear the engine. If OP is seriously considering a turbo, check out the FAQ on miataturbo.net, it's a knowledge bomb on turboing a miata.
