Michael Esson is an eminent figure in the world of drawing both as an academic and art practitioner. Esson was the Director at the International Drawing Research Initiative by the College Of Fine Arts (COFA), Australia and has been affiliated with the Xi’an Academy of Fine Art and Lincoln University.

Michael Esson was born in Scotland in 1950 and studied at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, Edinburgh College of Art and the Royal College of Art, London.
