The access point beneath Arasaka’s Night City Headquarters is only that, an access point- not Mikoshi itself. V and Johnny give Alt access to Mikoshi’s network via the access point so she can destroy it and free all off the Engrams (Souls) trapped within, as Arasaka use Mikoshi as a prison to store the personalities of their enemies.

I still think uploading to Mikoshi is the best possible ending as V basically remains oneself and becomes immortal. Her achievements go to waste however, far as i understand, everything else would come back to her if she got a body.

In the Nomad and Afterlife endings, jacking into Mikoshi has Alt kill V. The only ending where V isn't soulkilled is the Arasaka ending unless you choose to join the SYS program.

The “human factor” method of finding a way into Mikoshi is Hellman and Hanako. Alt wants us to get into mikoshi. We need to know where it is and how to get in. At this point V isn’t even sure if mikoshi exists in the “meat world” or is purely virtual. Chances are pretty good that getting in will involve more than just knocking.
