Minox branched out into 35 mm film format and 110 film format cameras in 1974 and 1976, respectively. Minox continues to operate today, producing or branding optical and photographic equipment. From 1936 to 1975, the history of the Minox brand is essentially that of the Minox subminiature camera.

The Minox subminiature camera, in its various models, was the world’s most widely used spy camera. When it first became available, the camera was considered a marvel of technology; it was originally made from steel in Riga, Latvia, from 1937 to 1944. Minox used film one-quarter the size of standard 35-mm film, with 50 frames loaded in a cassette.

2020年6月15日 · The Minox EC is by far the smallest and lightest camera in the family and measures just 80mm long (compared to 97 for B, which is ~20% more). I often wonder how did they manage to pack all that electronics, lens, film, and the battery in! More importantly, however, that it weights half as much at 45g vs 92 including the battery.

2018年6月20日 · It is a subminiature camera taking a Minox 8×11 cassette. The camera came packaged with one roll of 15 exposure film. I loaded the camera up one day and Mat Marrash started the roll and somewhere in between I finished it.
