On a distant planet called Mirinoi, an old man recounts the legend of the Quasar Sabers, five powerful swords that were placed in a stone altar 3,000 years ago to be removed by those deemed worthy. Unbeknownst to him or his audience, Stingwingers close in on them as various warriors attempt to draw the Quasar Sabers and fail.

Mirinoi is a jungle planet that is home to a human-like civilization that became guardians of five mystical sabers known as the Quasar Sabers, with those chosen five becoming the Galaxy Rangers. One of those is a villager named Maya, who becomes the Yellow Galaxy Ranger.

The Galaxy Rangers are born as five heroes unite to protect the planet Mirinoi from the villain Furio. The Rangers befriend the Galactabeasts - five enormous animals that help them defend Terra Venture from the forces of the evil Scorpius.

Mirinoians are a sapient humanoid species native to Mirinoi, and the guardians of the Quasar Sabers. Mirinoians are externally indiscernible from Humans. They are known to have empathic abilities, even enabling them to communicate with creatures such as Galactabeast Zords.
