The Mk 22 MOD 0 started life as the S&W Model 39. Specifically, a special version of the pistol used by Navy SEALs was converted to a double-stack 14-round magazine. The SEALs and other members of elite units like MACV-SOG wanted a weapon that could eliminate a sentry — or more likely a guard dog — as silently as possible.

The Navy SEALs have used the MK24 Mod 0 in a number of operations, including the Battle of Mogadishu and the Bin Laden raid. The pistol has proven to be a valuable asset to the SEALs, and it has helped them to achieve success in their missions.

Used by US Navy SEALs, including SEAL Team 6 (DEVGRU), the HK45C (compact) / HK45CT (compact tactical) is a compact pistol chambered in .45 ACP. The HK45CT features high profile front and rear sights and an extended threaded barrel which allows supressors to be fitted.

The SIG P226 Navy is identical to the currently designated "Mk 25", which features the anti corrosion finish, boat anchor engraving, and added a UID identification tag on the slide.
