MODO Drum opens on the Model selection screen. Ten kits are available, each loading with a predetermined configuration and a 'serving suggestion' mix already set up as a starting point. IK Multimedia follow up their highly acclaimed MODO Bass with a percussive counterpart.

2022年8月23日 · I've noticed that very little or almost nothing is said about MODO DRUM by IK Multimedia. The other day I read that it uses physical modeling instead of samples or a mix between both. Does anyone here use it? How does it sound compared to other drum VSTs? Its interface looks very interesting.

2021年12月23日 · I don't think Modo drums are traditional samples, they're synthetic, which is how you can change the snare size and other things. I got it for free with the recent sale, but it's not going to replace Addictive Drums for me, which sound to me more like drums in a studio.

MODO Drum's mixer is well equipped to create a fully produced-sounding drum mix straight from its master output. Not only does it have up to 22 drum channel strips — one for every component of the kit — but also channels for overhead and room returns, and two effects returns.

MODO DRUM opens to an angled view of a drumkit on the Model screen, which allows you to pick one of ten drumkit models. On the top right is a preset loader with Save and Delete, and on the top right is the settings menu. Along the bottom are MIDI, velocity, groove loader with playhead, and a master plugin output volume.

My Overall Impression: MODO Drum by IK Multimedia is like MODO Bass: excellent for shaping your custom tone. Since it is based on physical modeling it is also extremely fast to work with. Changing drum kits or individual drums is so much faster than “ordinary” drum plugins. This is the plugin for amazing workflow speed, and extreme customizability.

Unlike some of its competitors which rely exclusively on sampled drum sounds, MODO Drum has a whole new and exclusive synthesis engine, for both drums and cymbals. The range of acoustic kits provided coupled with the enormous customisation available means you really can find that right sound for your project.
