2006年8月16日 · The standard Mooching rod in Canada is the 10.5' and there are many.....just to name a few: I had a couple of G-Loomis GL2 rods, however the butt section was too limber, bends in the rod holder and was a little difficult to get out of the rod holder on larger fish (30# ++). They were quite expensive at $220 plus per rod.

2017年1月7日 · Buy a mooching rod you like and when you want to mooch...mooch and when you want to downrigger fish...ta da. Like @Swede said the 1265 blank has plenty of back bone to swing a 6oz banana weight and is used frequently on a downrigger. Dont look passed the kenai kwik by lamiglas. Best rod i have ever owned 2nd only to my sage.

2014年2月4日 · If you're using those reels with downriggers you'll want a long limber rod, something like 9'--10.5'. Regular casting guides and NO trigger on the reel seat. If you're using them for jigging, I like a shorter rod, around 8', with a more medium or medium fast action, much like a steelhead drift rod. Again, you don't want a trigger on the reel seat.

2024年5月2日 · A center pin reel is different than a mooching reel. A center pin is for fishing streams and rivers with floats and jigs. When trolling in the ocean I almost always use a mooching reel. I have an islander and it is nice but you don’t really need to spend that kind of money. A mooching reel is essentially the same thing as a large fly reel.
