The Missouri Pacific fielded a colorful array of locomotives and paint schemes in it's 100-year history. This section covers the ALCo-built RS2, RS3 (later "GP12" or RS 3m), the RS 11 (later "GP16" or RS11m), and the Baldwin AS16.

2005年10月3日 · Missouri Pacific's North Little Rock shops re-engined most all of the Alco-built RS-2 and RS-3 road switchers with EMD 12-567 engines, rated at 1200 hp. MP created a new class for them, calling them GP12's. There was quite a bit of change made externally, mostly to the tops of the units.

MOPAC Alco RS-11 #4612: The twelve 1800 hp RS 11’s produced in October-November of 1959 (#4601-4612) would be the last order the MP would purchase from Alco. 2025年1月23日 · Missouri Pacfic Railroad Alco RS3 #4502. This engine was built in 1955 by the American Locomotive Company for the Missouri Pacfic Railroad and sold in 1975 to the Bauxite & Northern Railway at Bauxite Arkansas. Equity Grain Co-op of Houston the purchased it to switch cars at it's grain elevator.

Missouri Pacific Railroad RS3m 1077 at Saint Louis, Missouri on October 2, 1965, Kodachrome by Lou Schmitz, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 1077 was built in February 1955 as MP RS3 4509 (c/n 80766), renumbered to 982 around 1961, rebuilt to what MP referred to as "EMCO" or more commonly, GP12.

This RS-3 was one of only two MP RS-3s never re-engined by MoPac. Restoration began in 2000 of this engine into it's original blue and gray scheme. The Museum of Transport in St. Louis was able to acquire a former Missouri Pacific RS-3 road number 4502 / 975.
