2015年8月29日 · I don't have a time machine back up, so took the option of booting into recovery mode and downloading OS X to reinstall. It got done downloading and then rebooted. It hangs at a screen that says "Failed to open OS X Installer. the Path /System/Installation Packages/OSInstall.mpkg appears to be missing or damaged.

2017年10月3日 · Some sources on the web suggested using "find" from a recovery terminal to locate the OSInstall.mpkg file, but in my case this file is not found. Eventually I ad to do a full restore from TimeMachine to get back to a working Sierra. Back up again at 2:30am. Grateful for any suggestions on what to try next...

2010年10月27日 · I just realized what was happening. I used Firefox to download these files and tried to install them by double-clicking. What I should have done was to download .pkg and .mpkg files with Safari which automatically runs them after they are downloaded. I tried it a few minutes ago and all the files that I was not able to install worked just fine.

( click-board) I can extract it on a windows-machine and then copy it to the ipad, but very mobile is this solution not, the example files are online available in mpkg-format.
