To be admitted into a HRD certificate-only program, students must have three years of direct HR experience, or five years of professional organizational experience or an eligible HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, GPHR). Students without this experience can earn a certificate in conjunction with the MSHRD.

AUI's Master of Science in Human Resource Development (MSHRD) program provides a unique opportunity for professionals to hone their skills and knowledge, allowing them to identify the individual and organizational capacities of employees.

All MSHRD students are required to complete a Capstone Experience. There are three options: HR Certification (examples include SHRM-CP, PHR, GPHR, etc.), Experiential Project (examples include internship, Masters’ thesis), and the Villanova Written Comprehensive Experience.

VUSHRM is run by a Board of HRD graduate students who organize and coordinate interactive programming for students in the Human Resource Development graduate program and all VUSHRM members. This student SHRM chapter has been awarded both the Outstanding Chapter Award and Superior Merit Award dozens of times since it was founded.
