2012年12月23日 · I have parts for these engines! If its a old MU-2 (body will be blue/yellow) there's lots of potential easy repairs. If its red/silver, with a PT, may just need to remotor it with a CDROM motor.

2014年10月16日 · A MU2 can't be remotored with another motor. You could always retrofit a different chassis. A Tyco GP20 could fit a Mantua classics GP20 or a Athearn GP9 blue box era chassis with minor frame modification.

2015年10月20日 · Tyco had more than 1 kind of motor. Diesels had Power Torque motors or MU-2 motors. Power Torque was a pancake motor driving the axles through spur gears and MU-2 was an open frame motor that drove the axles through worm gears.

2009年1月31日 · Some locos are easier to tell at a glance than others. An MU-2 loco will generally be any that was made before 1974/75. If you review older catalogs, you can get a feel for which locos and/or roadnames were (or were not) offered with an MU-2 or PT.
