Mucosol Syrup works as a bronchodilator in reversible airway obstruction and bronchial asthma. Use exactly as directed (see Administration below). Do not use more often than recommended (excessive use may result in tolerance, overdose may result in serious adverse effects) and do not discontinue without consulting prescriber.

It is recommended that this is achieved with Mucosol pediatric syrup. children 2-5 years: 2.5 -5 ml four times daily. children 5-12 years: 10 ml three times daily. pediatric syrup and adult syrup are for oral administration. Adult syrup: hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. use in patients with peptic ulceration.

Mucosol Syrup is used for: Acute bronchospasm. Oral Acute bronchospasm Adult: Initiate at 2.5 mg three/four times daily Maintenance: 5 mg three times daily q6hr while patient is awake; reduce dose to 2.5 mg q6hr Not to exceed 15 mg/Day.

It improves sputum rheology by hydrating mechanisms leading to liquefaction of mucus in the lumen of respiratory tract, thus facilitating expectoration of mucus and reducing dyspnoea. It stimulates production of phospholipid of surfactant by alveolar cells, thus contributing to the lowering of superficial tension in the alveoli.

Mucosol is used to treat respiratory conditions, as a cough suppressant, treats severe cough, helps break up and remove phlegm, and is used during colds, otitis media, and severe asthma attacks. Mucosol can also be used to treat lung contractions and after surgeries to treat pneumonia and bronchitis.
