I have read through Linuxman's thread on receiving the whole Ku arc, and others like it, and while they are very informative and useful, they seem to be more like a running narrative of what is being done, not how it is being done.

The multi lnb fixed dish has instant switching between satellites. If your main channels need a decoder, some official receivers like Sky, do not have motor controllers, but you can use a standard satellite receiver to control the motor, and use the decoder in tandem.
