2018年11月1日 · The Myst TMA3 was launched in 1983 with a price tag of £250. By the standards of the day – and indeed now – it was tiny at just 432x55x220mm (whd). Had it been launched even five years earlier, this diminutive one-box amplifier would have been about as fashionable as a pair of drainpipe trousers at the height of the disco era.

The Myst G-Ohm pre/power amplifier had a good reputation for sound, but it didn’t win any awards for ease of use or modern style — and what was with the name? The general caliber of the materials, circuit design, and components was top-notch considering the price, and everything was obviously very lovingly put together in all Myst products.

Based on the classic Hitachi MOSFET power amp application circuit, driven here by two cascaded differential stages running in Class A, Myst's TMA3 meets its 2x35/8ohm specification by delivering 2x40W/8ohm and 2x55W/4ohm.

Living with a Myst TMA3 is a strangely satisfying experience. Being so small it takes up very little space on your hi-fi rack while the limited number of inputs – just phono, tape, tuner and CD – means you're forced to have a pretty pared-down system, whether you like it or not.

2014年1月24日 · I need some advice on suitable speakers for a recently acquired myst tma3 amp. My father had one and but he is sadly no longer around to advise. I think his speakers were canadian in origin.
