NGC 103 is a Open Cluster in the Cassiopeia constellation. NGC 103 is situated close to the northern celestial pole and, as such, it is visible for most part of the year from the northern hemisphere. Given its visual magnitude of 9.8, NGC 103 is visible with the help of a binocular with a 80mm aperture or a small telescope.

NGC 103 is a small open cluster. It is partially visible in an 8" amateur telescope under moderately light polluted skies. It is roughly 4600 light-years from the Sun .

2024年12月11日 · NGC 103 in Cassiopeia is a small (about 4' long) and faint open cluster. Its elongated shape makes it worth a visit. I found it odd that the object is not part of the Herschel 2500 list. Could William Herschel have overlooked this cluster? The chances seemed slim to me.

Imaged December 6th and 7th, 2024 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
