2016年3月21日 · NGC 129 is an open cluster in Cassiopeia about 5300 light-years distant. Distances to open clusters are often hard to come by. Not in this case. The cluster is one of the youngest known, about 77 million years old yet does contain the Cepheid variable DL Cassiopeia. It is the orange star just right of center in my cropped image.

Images were focused using the camera's live view and a Bahtinov mask. Exposures were captured, aligned and combined in ImagesPlus. The composite image was adjusted in Photoshop.
