NGC 2992 - Wikipedia
NGC 2992 is a Seyfert galaxy located 103 [6] million light years distant in the equatorial constellation of Hydra. It was discovered in 1785 by Anglo-German astronomer William Herschel.
The lively accretion disc in NGC 2992 - IEEE Xplore
We report on the short- and long-term X-ray properties of the bright nearby Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC 2992, which was extensively observed with Swift, XMM–Newton, and NuSTAR. Swift targeted the source more than 100 times between 2019 and 2021 in the context of two monitoring campaigns.
NGC 2992: Interplay between the multiphase disc, wind, and radio ...
2023年11月16日 · We present an analysis of the gas kinematics in NGC 2992 based on VLT/MUSE, ALMA, and VLA data. Our aim is to characterise the disc, the wind, and their interplay in the cold molecular and warm ionised phases. NGC 2992 is a changing-look Seyfert known to host both a nuclear ultrafast outflow (UFO), and an AGN-driven kiloparsec-scale ionised wind.
The lively accretion disk in NGC 2992. I. Transient iron K emission ...
2020年6月9日 · We report on one of the brightest flux levels of the Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC 2992 ever observed in X-rays, on May 2019. The source has been monitored every few days from March 26, 2019 to December 14, 2019 by Swift-XRT, and simultaneous XMM-Newton (250 ks) and NuSTAR (120 ks) observations were triggered on May 6, 2019.

Revisiting the Circumnuclear X-Ray Emission of NGC 2992 in a ...
2022年10月20日 · We present an X-ray imaging and spectroscopic analysis of the circumnuclear (1''–3'') region of NGC 2992 using the zeroth-order image of a 135 ks grating observation obtained with Chandra, which captured the nucleus in a historically low flux state.
Spatially Resolved Analysis of Stellar Populations in NGC 2992: …
2024年8月14日 · In NGC 2992, a galaxy-scale ionized gas outflow driven by active galactic nuclei (AGNs) has long been recognized, yet its impact on the host galaxy has remained elusive. In this paper, we utilize data from the archival Very Large Telescope/MUSE to present a spatially resolved analysis of stellar populations in this galaxy.

The Eddington ratio-dependent ‘changing look’ events in NGC 2992
We present an analysis of historical multiwavelength emission of the ‘Changing Look’ (CL) Active Galactic Nucleu (AGN) in NGC 2992, covering epochs ranging from 1978 to 2021, as well as new X-ray and optical spectra.
