Sa vitesse par rapport au fond diffus cosmologique est de 5 557 ± 29 km/s, ce qui correspond à une distance de Hubble de 82,0 ± 5,8 Mpc (∼267 millions d'al) [1]. NGC 375 a été découverte par l'astronome irlandais Lawrence Parsons en 1874.
