NGC 383 is a double radio galaxy [3] with a quasar-like appearance located in the constellation Pisces. It was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel on 12 September 1784. [4] It is listed as Arp 331 in Halton Arp's Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies. [5]

NGC 383 is a Elliptical/Spiral Galaxy in the Pisces constellation. NGC 383 is situated north of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the northern hemisphere. Given its visual magnitude of 12.14, NGC 383 is visible with the help of a telescope having an aperture of 8 inches (200mm) or more.
