NGC 4015 is an unbarred lenticular galaxy in the Coma Berenices. [1] It is located between 215 and 220 million light years away. Its visual magnitude is 13.15. [2] It was first discovered by Danish astronomer John Dreyer on 26 April 1878, and he described it as a "faint object, very small and with a much brighter middle."

NGC 4015 is a Galaxy Pair in the Coma Berenices constellation. NGC 4015 is situated north of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the northern hemisphere. The image below is a photograph of NGC 4015 from the Digitized Sky Survey 2 (DSS2 - see the credits section) taken in the red channel.

From Redmond , NGC4015 is visible all night. It will become visible at around 20:20 (PDT), 23° above your eastern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. It will then reach its highest point in the sky at 01:50, 67° above your southern horizon. It will be lost to dawn twilight at around 06:14, 33° above your western horizon.

The latter properties are compared to those of other samples ofgalaxies, of both LSBs and ``classical'' high surface brightness (HSB)objects, which were selected in the optical. The 2MASS LSBs have aBT_c-KT colour which is on average 0.9 mag bluerthan that of HSBs from the NGC.
