NGC 4245 is a Lenticular Galaxy in the Coma Berenices constellation. NGC 4245 is situated north of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the northern hemisphere. Given its B magnitude of 12.4, NGC 4245 is visible with the help of a telescope having an aperture of 8 inches (200mm) or more.

We have studied stellar and gaseous kinematics as well as stellar population properties in the center of the early-type barred galaxy NGC 4245 by means of integral-field spectroscopy. We have found a chemically distinct compact core, more metal-rich by a factor of 2.5 than the bulge, and a ring of young stars with the radius of 300 pc.
