NGC 6366 - Wikipedia
NGC 6366 is a globular cluster located in the constellation Ophiuchus. It is designated as XI in the Shapley–Sawyer Concentration Class and was discovered by the German astronomer Friedrich August Theodor Winnecke on 12 April 1860. [2] It is at a distance of 11,700 light years away from Earth. [3] [4] [5] [6]
NGC 6366 - Globular Cluster in Ophiuchus | TheSkyLive.com
NGC 6366 is a Globular Cluster in the Ophiuchus constellation. NGC 6366 is situated close to the celestial equator and, as such, it is at least partly visible from both hemispheres in certain times of the year.
NGC 6366 - Students for the Exploration and Development of Space
It is a large and quite "open" globular cluster, as indicated by its concentration class XI. NGC 6366 is quite faint and weakly concentrated even in intermediate-sized amateur telescopes. As its brightest stars are only of magnitude 13.6, larger telescopes are required to view them; the horizontal branch giants are of magnitude 15.7.
Globular Cluster NGC 6366 | Deep⋆Sky Corner
NGC 6366 is a metal-rich Galactic globular cluster and the fifth closest to the Sun. Its kinematics suggests a link to the galactic halo, but its metallicity indicates otherwise. A presence of second generation stars is not evident.
Chemical analysis of eight giant stars of the globular cluster NGC 6366
2018年1月30日 · We present a detailed chemical analysis of eight giant stars of NGC 6366, using high resolution and high quality spectra (R > 40000, S/N > 60) obtained at the VLT (8.2 m) and CFHT (3.6 m) telescopes. We attempted to characterize its chemistry and to search for evidence of multiple stellar populations.
THE ACS SURVEY OF GALACTIC GLOBULAR CLUSTERS. VI. NGC 6366…
2008年12月15日 · We have used observations obtained as part of the Hubble Space Telescope /ACS Survey of Galactic globular clusters (GCs) to construct a color–magnitude diagram for the bulge cluster, NGC 6366. The luminosity function derived from those data extends to MF606W ∼ 9, or masses of ∼0.3 M☉.
Multichromatic colour–magnitude diagrams of the globular cluster NGC 6366
2013年5月21日 · We present multichromatic isochrone fits to the colour–magnitude data of the globular cluster NGC 6366, based on Hubble Space Telescope Advanced Camera for Surveys/Wide Field Channel and Southern Astrophysical Research photometric data.

NGC 6366
NGC 6366 is a large and quite "open" globular cluster, as indicated by its concentration class XI. With a distance of 11,400 light-years it is currently ranked as the fifth nearest the sun. Strong interstellar extinction is the reason for the reddish colour of NGC 6366:
