NGC 6644 is a Planetary Nebula in the Sagittarius constellation. NGC 6644 is situated south of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the southern hemisphere. Given its visual magnitude of 10.7, NGC 6644 is visible with the help of a telescope having an aperture of 6 inches (150mm) or more.

At higher magnification (13 mm Ethos eyepiece, 138x, 43' field of view), individual stars can be recognised in the peripheral area. The planetary nebula NGC 6644 is recognisable in the 21 mm Ethos and appears in the 13 mm ethos as a small disc, barely larger than the surrounding stars.
