NGC 6654 is a Lenticular Galaxy in the Draco constellation. NGC 6654 is situated close to the northern celestial pole and, as such, it is visible for most part of the year from the northern hemisphere. Given its B magnitude of 12.7, NGC 6654 is visible with the help of a telescope having an aperture of 10 inches (250mm) or more.

NGC 6654 is a rather strange galaxy in Draco. It's distance isn't well known. Redshift puts it at about 80 million light-years distant though a single Tully measurement says 96 million.

This object is a face-on barred lenticular galaxy located 90 million light years away in the constellation of Draco at a declination of +73 degrees. This 12th magnitude galaxy spans 2.5 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to an actual diameter of 70,000 light years. I find the barred core area to be interesting.
