Galaxies NGC 6702, NGC 6703 - Deep⋆Sky Corner
The small elliptical galaxy NGC 6702 is moving away from the Local Group at a speed of about 5000 km/s. The inclination of the axis of rotation, as far as one can speak of it at all for an elliptical galaxy, is 55 degrees. The spiral galaxy NGC 6703 is significantly closer than NGC 6702, as its radial velocity with respect to the Local Group is ...
NGC 6702 - Elliptical Galaxy in Lyra | TheSkyLive.com
NGC 6702 is a Elliptical Galaxy in the Lyra constellation. NGC 6702 is situated north of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the northern hemisphere. Given its visual magnitude of 13.05, NGC 6702 is visible with the help of a telescope having an aperture of 10 inches (250mm) or more.
June 2016 - Galaxy of the Month - Webb Deep-Sky
NGC 6702 shows the attributes of a LINER galaxy, one that shows emission lines and probably a sign of a mild AGN or enhanced star formation. NGC 6703 is about 26 Mpc from us whilst NGC 6702 would appear to be nearer 60 Mpc distant.
NGC6702 & NGC6703 - Stellar Scenes
The northern one, NGC 6702, is an elliptical galaxy with a diameter of 1.8 arc minutes, while the southern one, NGC 6703, is a slightly larger lenticular galaxy with a diameter of over 2 arc minutes. Both galaxies lack distinct internal structures and only exhibit prominent luminous nuclei.

From Redmond , NGC6702 will become visible at around 19:21 (PDT), 74° above your western horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. It will then sink towards the horizon, becoming tricky to observe after 01:08 when it dips 21° above your north-western horizon. "Uppsala General Catalogue of Galaxies", P. Nilson, 1973. "HYPERLEDA. NGC 6702 - Wikipedia
Graphite Galaxy - NGC 6702
Situated close to the galaxy NGC 6703, but this one is significantly fainter, although they have the same apparent size. It looks like an ellipse, a tiny little bit elongated in the N-S direction, however the view is very uncertain. For a mosaic featuring both galaxies, please click here.
