NGC 6703 is a Elliptical/Spiral Galaxy in the Lyra constellation. NGC 6703 is situated north of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the northern hemisphere. Given its visual magnitude of 11.34, NGC 6703 is visible with the help of a telescope having an aperture of 6 inches (150mm) or more.
Galaxies NGC 6702, NGC 6703 - Deep⋆Sky Corner
The small elliptical galaxy NGC 6702 is moving away from the Local Group at a speed of about 5000 km/s. The inclination of the axis of rotation, as far as one can speak of it at all for an elliptical galaxy, is 55 degrees. The spiral galaxy NGC 6703 is significantly closer than NGC 6702, as its radial velocity with respect to the Local Group is ...
Observations of NGC6703 - Webb Deep-Sky
There is a lovely arc of stars running from NGC 6703 towards NGC 6702 and curving to the North East. They are mainly mag 10–11 stars with one brighter one. Using the 13 mm ethos, x181, clearly shows NGC 6703 with a large, bright core and a definite circular halo.
June 2016 - Galaxy of the Month - Webb Deep-Sky
NGC 6702 shows the attributes of a LINER galaxy, one that shows emission lines and probably a sign of a mild AGN or enhanced star formation. NGC 6703 is about 26 Mpc from us whilst NGC 6702 would appear to be nearer 60 Mpc distant.

Graphite Galaxy - NGC 6703
Compact, but surprisingly bright galaxy, with an fuzzy stellar core. Thanks to this and its tiny diameter, at small magnification it looks like the member of a stellar path flowing in the N-S direction. With larger FoV it fits together with NGC 6702, but in that case its shape becomes too compact. This shape is like a rhombus with W-E elongation.
NGC6702 & NGC6703 - Stellar Scenes
The northern one, NGC 6702, is an elliptical galaxy with a diameter of 1.8 arc minutes, while the southern one, NGC 6703, is a slightly larger lenticular galaxy with a diameter of over 2 arc minutes. Both galaxies lack distinct internal structures and only exhibit prominent luminous nuclei.
