NGC 6771 is a Lenticular Galaxy in the Pavo constellation. NGC 6771 is situated south of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the southern hemisphere. Given its visual magnitude of 12.52, NGC 6771 is visible with the help of a telescope having an aperture of 10 inches (250mm) or more.

The two upper galaxies, NGC 6770 (right) and NGC 6769 (left), are of equal brightness and size, while NGC 6771 (upper) is about half as bright and slightly smaller. All three galaxies possess a central bulge of similar brightness.

2023年2月15日 · NGC 6771 (ESO 141-50, PGC 63049 and others) is a giant elliptical below NGC 6769 and 71. This one is located approximately 195 million light-years away. IC 4845 (ESO 141-54, PGC 63081 and others) is the odd spiral at the top left.

They consist of elderly, reddish stars and that of NGC 6771 is remarkable for its "boxy" shape, a rare occurrence among galaxies. NGC 6769 is a spiral galaxy with very tightly wound spiral arms, while NGC 6770 has two major spiral arms, one of which is rather straight and points towards the outer disc of NGC 6769.

The trio consisting of NGC 6769, 6770 and 6771 are located around 198 million light years away in the constellation of Pavo. NGC 6769 and 6770 are spiral galaxies that are heavily interacting with obvious star bridges between them.
