NGC 7789 (also known as Caroline's Rose, [4] Caroline's Haystack, [5] or the White Rose Cluster) is an open cluster in Cassiopeia that was discovered by Caroline Herschel in 1783. Her brother William Herschel included it in his catalog as H VI.30.

Caroline’s Rose Cluster is a bright open cluster located approximately 7,622 light-years away in the northern constellation Cassiopeia. With an apparent magnitude of 6.7, it is visible in binoculars and small telescopes. The cluster has the designation NGC 7789 in the New General Catalogue. It is one of the oldest open clusters known.

NGC 7789, «Caroline's Rose» or «Herschel's Spiral Cluster», is an unusually rich open star cluster. It was discovered on 1 November 1783 by William Herschel's sister Caroline. William Herschel entered the star cluster in his catalog on 18 October 1786 as VI 30 (VI = very crowded and rich star clusters).
