The Chrysler 1.8, 2.0, and 2.4 are inline-4 engines designed originally for the Dodge and Plymouth Neon compact car. These engines were loosely based on their predecessors, the Chrysler 2.2 & 2.5 engine, sharing the same 87.5 mm (3.44 in) bore.

2005年1月27日 · The SRT/PT GT engines equipped with the Next Generation Controller (NGC) use a 32 tooth crank trigger (in actuality 31 tooth). The PCM uses the crank trigger signal to calculate many of its functions/duty cycles.

2011年12月20日 · J-TEC PCM controlled engines use the 16-tooth Crankshaft Tone ring and matching camshaft tone ring. NGC PCM controlled engines use the 32-tooth crankshaft tone ring and matching camshaft tone ring. You can use the engines in one or all applications as long as you have the correct tone rings installed for that PCM.

The NGC PCM first appeared on 2002 LH vehicles and 2002 1⁄2 DN vehicles with the 4.7L engine. The use of NGC controllers will expand to include other vehicle lines, with the full transition expected by the 2005 model year.

2017年1月24日 · I do not remember ever hearing that the VIN tells you if you have NGC or JTEC, only the PCM plugs being the deciding factor along with the separate TCM next to the passenger headlight on JTEC models.

These engines are 1.8L, 2.0L, and 2.4L I4 engines designed as a joint venture between DaimlerChrysler, Mitsubishi Motors, and Hyundai Motor Company. GPEC’s first applications are the 2007 PM (Dodge Caliber) and 2007 MK (Jeep Compass).
