A management shakeup resulted in SP 4449 being selected for service instead of the NKP locomotives (for a while overhauling and de-streamlining N&W 611 was considered), and 763 returned to Roanoke.

Nice work! The last time I saw NKP 763, in the museum, was in 1993. She looks better now, repainted? That was a memorable trip, starting in Roanoke and seeing the 763, then later riding behind the 765, disguised as C&O 2765 on the New River Gorge trip. Will it ever happen again with steam?
