NKP 765 Crossing River Styx Trestle - Trainorders.com
Mike Ondecker and I caught NKP 765 heading west over the N&W (Ex-AC&Y) River Styx trestle in River Styx, Ohio on June 25, 1983. As we were both much younger then, we scrambled up the steep hillside from the road below. Going down was even scarier. Now, I'd be more careful, but back then we both took far more chances. Steam & Excursion > NKP 765 Question - Trainorders.com
Both the NKP 700s and ex-W&LE 800s were in use side-by-side on the W&LE District of the NKP, so the steam men knew first-hand what they were talking about. Steam ended on NKP's W&LE District in 1957, and for several years prior Brewster Shop had been removing the Alco power reverses from the 800s and sending them to Conneaut for re-installation ...

Steam & Excursion > what happened to 765's mars light?
Other than the 779 at the 1949 Chicago RR Fair, John Rehor's NKP Story records the Mars lights being installed on all of the NKP berks in 1950-51. Therefore the 765 ran half her life with the Mars light and half without. The NKP used the clear or white lens on their steam locmotives - …

Steam & Excursion > Tom Stephens Passes - Trainorders.com
It is with a heavy heart that I report the passing of my good friend Tom Stephens of Arcanum, OH. Tom was 86. Tom contributed in no small way to my detail knowledge about steam, particularly NKP 700’s. Tom was an engineer and CMO on 765 for many years and I soon learned that
Steam & Excursion > 765's whistle - Trainorders.com
Yes, the regular whistle on the 765 - mounted on the steam dome with a shroud - fireman's side- is from the first NKP 700. It is all brass/bronze, unlike the S-2 whistles which are brass on the bowl and bottom and cast iron on the top.

NKP 765 Horseshoe curve!! - Trainorders.com
> Program", it would seem highly unlikely that NKP > 765 would deadhead all that distance for > excursions. Its definitely not in 765's backyard and the steam program is over, but NS still allows 611 to operate on the main. Maybe there giving it a second thought. Nonetheless I wouldn't miss out on this opportunity.
