2025年3月10日 · The #779’s original, diamond-shaped builder’s plates were also missing for its 1966 donation to the city of Lima, so new ones were cast using an old Lima Locomotive Works diamond from an NKP 4-6-2 as the pattern. They changed the 4-6-2’s serial number and date for the correct serial number and date for #779’s repro plates.

2025年3月7日 · There might be some reasoning about deciding where to place the input. Theres a discussion on the nkp email yahoo about having a 4-8-4 passenger engine, a high stepping smaller boilered 4-8-4, but since the line was not heavy grades, a 4-6-4 worked out fine, perhaps a larger 4-6-4 would be the order as the NKP hudsons were smaller.

2025年2月28日 · Thanks Richard and KL for the plug. Yes, Don Krofta is one of the best of the 16mm railfan cameramen. As for NKP, the good news is that he has footage ready for a fourth NKP volume. I'll tackle it when I finish the second B&O volume, which I'm doing now. I didn't enter the thread to spam anyone but since you guys mentioned it, I guess it's OK.
NKP 759 History (includes the "freeze") for Record - RyPN
2 天之前 · We found three small copper lines which were lubricator heaters to be freeze split. Nothing more. I worked with Wesley Camp and Doyle MacCormack in June and July, 1976 to exchange the 759's frozen and split water pump with the pump from NKP 779 in Lima, Ohio. The 759 is IMHO the best locomotive at Steamtown not presently operating.
