2012年6月11日 · I've got three NKP Car Co. kits to build as a favor for my Dad. These kits are pretty time consuming, but they go together well and make for nice models when done. The three cars are all CB&Q, and consist of a Diner, Diner/Parlor, and a baggage car. The kits consist of etched brass sides, along with resin roof, ends, and misc details.

The NKP Car Company brass model is one example of the Erie roof, and a resin replacement has been offered in the past by Bethlehem Car Works cast by Tom Madden. Each railroad had a version all their own, so tread carefully.

2015年6月17日 · Come to think of it, Walthers did a 5BR-Lounge on the UP Cities- I looked at it to do the Mop car, but the hallway was on the wrong side. I was REALLY hoping Walthers was doing these correctly, as I'd need one of each NKP and MP 5BR-Lounge cars to go on my model of the excursion train. The NKP car is the hallway side, the MP car the bedroom side.

NKP lettering is one of those things that deserves to be done right, and this car proves to be quite interesting in that regard. Careful study of the prototype NKP paint (as applied by Greenville Steel Car) shows multiple styles of lettering.
