The driver diameter and piston dimensions were proven to be the best combination for the start-stop nature and 60mph speed limit of the NKP’s mainline. Features such as cross compound air compressors, Elesco exhaust steam injectors, and mechanical stokers were chosen for compatibility and operational familiarity with existing NKP locomotives.

These eight locomotives were the pride of the NKP's passenger service and saw 16 years of handling main line passenger trains between Buffalo, NY and Chicago, IL until displaced by diesels in the 1950s. There is one surviving locomotive, number 170, on display at the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, Mo.

2021年6月30日 · The main body is the NKP Mikado from K&L Trainz. The smoke deflectors are from The Backshops UP FEF-3. The drivers are from K&L trainz's CN K1d pacific. The Rear truck im not sure. The tender is the one that comes with K&L's Mikado. All of those parts are what he used for the l1a hudson. Put those in, and you have the model
