NMB48 (read "N.M.B. Forty-eight") is a Japanese idol group that debuted in 2011 as the second sister group to AKB48, produced by Yasushi Akimoto. NMB48 is named after the Namba district in Osaka city of Osaka Prefecture, where the group is based.

NMB48 (short for N a mb a 48) is a Japanese all-female idol group based in Namba, Osaka, where they have their own theater, located in the Yes-Namba Building. The group, established in 2010, is the second sister group of AKB48. NMB48 is produced by Akimoto Yasushi and signed under Universal Records.

NMB48 has had 170 original members over their 10 generations (not including Draft, Kennin, transferred members and Uemura Azusa) and a total of 202 members (Plus Draft, Kennin, transferred members and Uemura Azusa). As of February 2025, NMB48 currently has 42 members and 14 Kenkyuusei.
