6402 was built in June 1970, #35947, FN 7203-3, as KCS 624. It was sold to Soo as 624 in July 1986 and then renumbered 6402. It was retired and sold to Helm and rebuilt by Alstom as GCFX 3071.

BNSF has 14 SD45's still on their roster they are numbered in the 6403-6418 series. Have any of you guys seen them in service lately if so where? Thank you for your time and information. Detector out

Group, The BNSF is running a U-EMLMCI1-30 train out of East Moline tonight with engines NREX 6403 and BNSF 132. I drove through East Moline earlier this afternoon and there were about 30 flats of Case IH and 30 flats of John Deere combines ready to be assembled for the unit train.

If I remember correctly, it looked like standard SP paint and lettering (speed lettering), but with a small white NREX and 8315 under the cab window, stencilled on. The train was holding northbound on main 2 at Auburn for the Coast Starlight to pass. It had a green ex-BN FURX SD40-2, an ex-UP NREX SD50, the ex-SP unit, and an H1 BNSF SD40-2.
